The IPAY Learning Community - "Making Critical Choices"
Call to Present Professional Development Sessions

The International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) is now soliciting proposals for our 2010 Showcase and Conference, January 20-23, 2010, co-hosted by the Pittsburgh International Children’s Theater, Pittsburgh, PA. The theme for this year's showcase is "Making Critical Choices."

Showcase is THE gathering place for presenters, artist-managers, artists, students, and other persons involved and interested in the performing arts for youth and family audiences. During the three day conference, participants view juried full performances by national and international artists, engage in a series of professional development sessions and special workshops, participate in booking and show discussion in our marketplace, and network with colleagues and peers.

The IPAY Learning Community is a platform for colleagues to share knowledge and best practices; and to stimulate and facilitate active exchange, interaction, and comparison of approaches, methods, and ideas relating to specific topics on performing arts/programming for youth and family. The theme can be applied to the creative or business ends of the field, relevant to topic areas such as performance development and analysis, educational programming, finances, and marketing. We are seeking a diverse grouping of experiences for our attendees.

Sessions can take the form of a moderated speaker presentation; investigating a work in development; interactive workshop or master class; panel discussion; or open forum on relevant topic, concern, or idea. The session should be appropriate for a group of 20-35 participants.

Professional developments sessions are 90 minutes in length and should include a participant engagement piece.
