Host Showcase

The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center was thrilled to host Showcase 2008, when IPAY celebrated its 30th annual conference! With mostly sunny skies and average temperatures in the mid- to upper-70's, it was one of the few times Showcase attendees could attend the conference in t-shirts and shorts. We enjoyed showing off our beautiful venue, situated along the Hillsborough River, to all of the conference attendees and kept them busy with over 30 performances in four performance spaces, an Exhibit Hall and parties throughout the four-day conference. Showcase 2008 was a great gift to our community, as we were able to offer free tickets to many of these performances to Tampa Bay Families, schools and children. We can't wait to host Showcase in Tampa again.

Hosting Showcase brings your organization into the center of the performing arts for youth field and brings valuable international business into your institution. With over 400 delegates providing business for area hotels, restaurants, and other attractions, Showcase also provides valuable economic stimulus to your area, and provides opportunities for you to attract sponsorships and other donations for this high profile event. IPAY considers applications for hosting Showcase that are reflective of regional membership throughout North America.

The application must demonstrate proven ability to attract and provide for at least 400 delegates, 14-18 full-length productions (of varying scale), and 85 exhibit booths (all numbers are approximate based upon prior Showcases). Additionally, the host must be able to provide appropriate staffing including, but not limited to, production, security, operations, box office, front of house, marketing and publicity, and any other staff (paid and volunteer). Further, securing appropriate hotel venue(s) to accommodate all Showcase delegates, preferably at a discounted rate, is vital.

IPAY takes administrative and financial responsibility for Showcase, working in close partnership with the host organization. As an annual conference for over 30 years with regular attendees and performance applicants, IPAY provides the host the experience and resources to plan the event. Working with an organization of IPAY's stature will assuredly raise the significance of performing arts for youth for your board, your staff, and our audiences.
