Henk Schoute
Born in 1954, Henk Schoute started his career as a human resources manager. In 1977, he took his first steps in theatre. As an amateur actor he had a role in a play of B. Brecht, directed by one of the leading directors in the Netherlands, Annemarie Prins. Until 1992 he performed in several professional productions in The Netherlands. Additionally, in 1987 he began his administrative arts career as general manager of a little theatre in Amsterdam. In the following years he worked on a dance festival and one of the largest summer theatre festivals, Over het IJ festival, in Amsterdam.
Since 1997, Henk had been responsible for The International Youth Theatre Festivals in Nordic-Holland (one of the provinces of The Netherlands) and the yearly summer theatre festival Karavaan. In February of 2009, he became general manager of one of the largest summer festivals in The Netherland, Zeeland Nazomerfestival. Henk is a member of several theatre boards and is chairman of the festivals section of the institute of general managers of Dutch Theatre and Concert and chairman of the commission for the Art in Flevoland (a province of The Netherlands) and Almere (a city in Flevoland.)
