Kim Peter Kovac

Kim Peter Kovac is Producing Director of Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences, which commissions, produces, tours, and presents. Work at the Center includes:
• Producing over fifty new plays, operas and dances for young audiences
• serving co-founder/co-director of New Visions/New Voices, the award-winning program which assists in the development of new TYA plays.

He has worked as producer, director, designer, and playwright for theater, opera, and dance; conducted symposia in Jordan, Japan, Australia, Austria, Turkey, Ireland; taught a seminar on 'the business of new plays' at the University of Central Florida.

He is currently vice president of ASSITEJ, the international association of theaters for young people and families. From 2004-2008 he was president of Theater for Young Audiencs /USA, the national association of professional theaters for young audiences.

In 2008, he was honored to receive IPAY's Mickey Miners award and the American Alliance for Theater in Education's Monte Meacham award, both for lifetime achievement / distinguished service to the field of theater for young audiences.
